Honest note on what a GED is The GED is a United States high-school-equivalency credential — it is not the NSC ("matric"). It is accepted by private colleges in South Africa and by universities in the US and many other countries, but South African further-study routes depend on each institution's own rules and can change. If university study is the goal, please check the entry requirements directly with the institution you're aiming for. Official GED information: ged.com.

How the official GED exam works in South Africa You need 145 or more per subject to pass, and you may write the subjects one at a time. In South Africa the exam is written in person at Boston City Campus Pearson VUE test centres (45+ nationwide) — and before you can book, GED Testing Service requires a pass on the GED Ready® practice test for each subject. That's exactly what your tutor prepares you for.

About fees Tutoring is billed monthly on Apex's GED packages — see the table below. Your consultant confirms your package and schedule at the free consultation, and nothing is paid before then. The official exam fee (currently US$90 per subject, confirmed when you book) and the GED Ready® practice test are paid separately by you, directly to GED Testing Service — not to Apex.
