Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Afrikaans-speaking tutor to provide individualized instruction to a Grade 12 IEB student in Mathematics. The successful candidate will have a strong academic background in Mathematics, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to individual students’ needs..

Location: Mkondeni, Pietermaritzburg

Grade Level: Grade 12 IEB

Job Type: Part-time

Subject:

• Mathematics (taught in Afrikaans)

Session Details:

• In-person tutoring (house calls)
• Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings
• Time: 10am – 11am

Responsibilities:

• Provide in-person tutoring to a Grade 12 IEB student in Mathematics (in Afrikaans)
• Develop and implement effective learning strategies to improve the student’s understanding and grades
• Create a supportive and encouraging learning environment
• Monitor student progress and adjust tutoring approach as needed
• Communicate regularly with the student and parents to provide feedback and updates

Requirements:

• Relevant academic qualifications (degree or diploma) in Mathematics or related field
• Strong knowledge of Grade 12 IEB Mathematics curriculum and assessment standards
• Experience teaching or tutoring Grade 12 IEB students in Mathematics (in Afrikaans)
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual students’ needs
• Fluency in Afrikaans (ability to teach Mathematics in Afrikaans)
