In-Person Tutor Needed for Grade 8 Maths in Scottsville, Pietermaritzburg

We are seeking a qualified and experienced tutor to provide individualized support to a Grade 8 student in Mathematics. The tutoring sessions will take place in-person, two days a week, on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 15h30, in Scottsville, Pietermaritzburg.

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert tutoring in Grade 8 Mathematics to one student
• Develop and implement effective learning strategies to improve the student’s understanding and grades
• Create a supportive and encouraging learning environment that fosters academic growth and confidence
• Set and achieve goals with the student, monitoring progress and adjusting the tutoring approach as needed
• Communicate regularly with the student’s parents to provide feedback and updates on progress

Requirements

• A degree in Mathematics or a related field
• Experience in tutoring Grade 8 Mathematics
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the Grade 8 Mathematics curriculum and assessment standards
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of the student
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to regular tutoring sessions
